It was great to put some more hours in on the bank recently. I was fishing a club water which has previously proved fairly tricky for myself, only catching the smaller fish of the bunch.
However, this session was a little different as I felt confident testing the Toffee Cream popups, glugged in Toffee Cream Mist. This was fished helicopter style on a Ronnie Rig over a bed of particle. The popups are not available yet but we are hoping for a summer release. We are getting so much interest in matching popups so we apologise for delay
We are really happy with how the Toffee Cream is performing and the feedback so far has been fantastic. It seems to have a really unique flavour which when smelt is always followed by that 'mmmmm' sound and a raised eyebrow.
Anyway, the fish were really visible throughout the day in the sunshine, showing all over the lake but there was little to no action anywhere. The temperature dropped rapidly later on which was surprising since the following night was really mild, but the fish seemed to move in on my swim, grubbing around. After a couple of missed runs and a few liners the alarm finally screamed off and in came this lovely mirror at 23lb 07oz with not too much of a fuss.
There are plenty of much larger fish which I'll be targeting this summer but it was great to get off to a good start for the season and more importantly see the Toffee Cream in action.
